Namugongo was an established place of in pre-colonial Buganda. Today its a pilgrimage of catholic church to remember the massacre of more than 20 young men in 1886, who were burned to death for their refusal to renounce Christianity at the order of Kabaka Mwanga.
This place is interesting for all people who want to know more about Ugandas history. Even in ugandan schools the kids learn about Namugongo.
